Summary

PopLingo: Popup Dictionary helps you look up and translate text you choose. Today, processing is done locally on your device, including on-device OCR, on-device translation, and on-device dictionary lookups. We do not create accounts, do not store your text, and do not use ads or analytics. If optional cloud providers are added later, they will be clearly labeled and this policy will be updated.

1. Developer

PopLingo: Popup Dictionary is operated by Aktaris Tech ("we", "us", "Developer").

2. Data Handling

  • Selected Text: Processed on-device for immediate lookup or translation. Not stored by us.
  • OCR Output: Processed on-device and not retained by us.
  • Dictionary Lookups: Performed locally. We do not log looked-up terms.
  • Preferences: Saved locally on your device and removable via reset or uninstall.
  • Technical Diagnostics: May include non-content error or performance signals only.

3. We Do Not Collect

  • No names, emails, usernames, or profile data.
  • No persistent translation history or lookup logs.
  • No advertising identifiers, tracking cookies, or analytics SDKs.
  • No payment card numbers. Google Play handles billing.

4. Optional Cloud Providers (Future)

The app currently runs locally. If optional cloud providers are introduced, they will be clearly disclosed, require explicit user action, and this policy will be updated with provider-level details.

5. In-App Purchases

Transactions use Google Play Billing. We receive entitlement status, for example a purchase token, not raw payment credentials.

6. Security

PopLingo minimizes data exposure through local processing. If future cloud endpoints are enabled, requests use HTTPS/TLS where available.

7. Children's Privacy

The app may be used by all ages. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children.

8. International Transfers

Current local processing does not require international transfer. If future cloud providers are enabled, processing may occur in other regions.

9. User Control and Deletion

  • Reset app data or uninstall to remove local preferences.
  • Avoid entering sensitive personal, financial, or medical text.
  • Future cloud provider toggles, if added, will be user controllable.

10. Changes

We update the effective date and version for material changes.
